'Juicy Pop' Florals
A little fun fact, giving a fresh flower arrangement as a gift has to be one of my favorite things. It gives me an opportunity to think about the person I’m giving it to and to create something beautiful that matches their personality. I love taking things to the next level and a little floral care and consideration does just that. This ‘Juicy Pop’ arrangement is exactly as it sounds. I wanted to create something that is bold and vibrant. Using colors that pop and a blend of fragrant florals that make you want to drink it all in. Little Easter eggs of tulip anthurium and mini pineapple dot the arrangement and a splash of phal orchids and eye-opening red anemones for the big finish!
‘JUICY POP’
FLORALS + SUPPLIES
Column vessel (6-7” opening)
Floral snips
12 stems of ‘pink floyd rockstar’ roses
1 bunch of red anemones
25 stems of bicolor carnations
1 bunch of yellow butterfly ranunculus
2 stems of mini pineapple
1 bunch of standing orange amaranthus
1 bunch of seafoam statice
3 stems of tulip anthurium
2 stems of pink phalaenopsis orchids
1 bunch of lycopodium
Floral water tubes
STEPS
Snip sections of chicken wire and mold the wire to fill the vessel and create the shape above the vessel.
Fill the vessel with enough water so that all stems placed within the arrangement will be submerged.
Start with the stems of lycopodium to create a light greenery base. The majority of the arrangement will be floral elements.
Place key pink roses to give the shape and body of the arrangement its start.
Layer in the red anemones. These stems tend to be more fragile, so it’s best to place them early in the arrangement before the base fills up and it becomes difficult to insert the softer stems. Set aside a few anemones to be placed as showstoppers with water tubes.
Add the standing orange amaranthus strategically to add interest to the arrangement. I like to place them on one side and in groupings of 2 or 3 at different heights.
Layer in the butterfly ranunculus and seafoam statice to fill in holes and add natural movement to the arrangement. Set aside a few stems of the butterfly ranunculus to use with water tubes at the end.
Layer in the remaining pink roses and carnations.
Place the mini pineapple and tulip anthurium in spots that will highlight them at different angles.
Using the water tubes, place the remaining anemone, ranunculus and the phalaenopsis orchids in feature areas of the arrangement. Because the stems don’t need to reach the vessel for water, this gives you freedom to place them higher up and further out to add intrigue.
Top off the vessel with water and spritz the arrangement with water to help hydrate the petals.
