The Enchanted Rose for Saint Valentine
Happy Saint Valentine’s Day! To celebrate the festivities, I wanted to create an inspired look from the cherished story book, Beauty and the Beast. There was something about the end scene where the last petal falls from the enchanted rose, all hope is lost, and then just kidding, everyone magically turns back, but with more humility and personal growth. For some reason, I always felt like something was missing. In my mind, the sad lonely rose magically transforms into a beautiful cascading vine of rose blooms. So that’s what I did here. I created my own ending for the enchanted rose and I think it is pretty winsome. Using spray, garden, and black magic roses in shades of red create a perfectly monochromatic aesthetic you didn’t know you needed. Roses and anthurium are hearty plants and with the occasional refresh of water, this installation of cascading roses should last a while, give or take 5 to 6 days.
